There’s only one SickKids, so when children far away need our care, they face the challenge of leaving behind all that’s familiar and travelling while ill. This is the bead they earn for braving the journey. There are different beads for different procedures, and over their stay many of our kids collect thousands of them. Each bead is a milestone in a child’s journey, so they’re worn like badges of honour. More than one million patients have collectively earned more than one million Bravery Beads. Courage like theirs deserves to be on display, so we’re transforming beads donated by patients into a befitting monument to the brave. You can help.
