As one half of the long-running soulful duo, “What It Is!” Kwame Younge has consistently brought the funkiest and most danceable Soul music to the people. Beginning in 1998, Kwame Younge alongside his partner DJ Dave Campbell have supplied a moveable groove to Rivoli, El Mocambo, The AGO, Harbourfront and many other venues around Toronto. Their motto “No Stiffs, No Fakes and No Wallflowers” strongly applies. By “putting the music first” they’ve managed to cultivate a robust following over the last two decades that remains loyal to this day.

As a Musicologist, Kwame Younge’s knowledge of genres like Blues, Jazz and Reggae is unrivalled and your ears are rewarded each time one checks out his sets. Prepare for an auditory journey through the Blues’ roots to its’ present appeal with listeners and dancers alike. Good times are guaranteed.
