With Open Studio, Union and Fall for Dance North invite you into the daily life of a dancer. If you’re passing through Union Station’s West Wing, pause for a moment or stay for an hour and experience the artists at work.

From 12–2 PM, witness the cast of Partita prepare to take the stage in HEAR THE DANCE: Signature Programme 3. This open rehearsal of Justin Peck’s sneaker ballet invites you to get closer to the artists as they move through technically challenging choreography that celebrates the joy of being together.

The rehearsal features recent graduates of Toronto Metropolitan University and students from the National Ballet School.

Justin Peck is a three-time Tony Award-winning director, choreographer, filmmaker, and dancer based in New York City. He is the Resident Choreographer of the New York City Ballet and only the second person in the institution’s 75-year history to hold this title.

He has created more than 50 stage and theatre works presented around the world, including at Lincoln Center, the Palais Garnier, Sydney Opera House, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Broadway. His creations have been performed by companies including the Paris Opera Ballet, Australian Ballet, Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Boston Ballet, Juilliard, The National Ballet of Canada, Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, LA Dance Project, Dutch National Ballet, the School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Houston Ballet.

Co-presented by Union and Fall for Dance North.
