This vision celebrates creativity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility through our free year-round events that showcase Toronto’s cultural scene. Our goal is to strengthen the connection between public art and civic engagement, ultimately striving to create connectedness amongst our communities.
All of Union’s events and activations are uniquely curated by the programming and events team. Through collaborations with local, national and international cultural organizations and brands, our team is constantly seeking to program a wide roster of activities that are accessible, fun, and foster meaningful thought and emotional dialogue about our experiences.
Syma is responsible for overseeing and delivering Toronto Union’s programming vision. As a senior arts and cultural leader she has contributed to the revitalization of Union Station with Osmington Inc., since 2013. Syma’s passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all runs deeply in everything she does.
Kim is a passionate senior arts and cultural leader who overseas planning and execution on all the creative aspects of Union’s programming. Her precision and ability to flawlessly produce and execute all kinds of events from start to finish are unmatched. Kim’s passion for City building and placemaking can be seen all around Union.
From negotiating pop-up stores, brand installations, creative experiences and tailored sponsorships for our marquee events, Jessica elevates the activations program at Union Station, bringing in engaging and high-quality campaigns. She has collaborated with national brands like Louis Vuitton, Johnnie Walker, Bauer, LEGO, OLG, and also supports smaller entrepreneurs and local brands which help foster local economies and connect communities.
Alexa’s passion for Union’s vision and her eager curiosity has seen her take on many roles- from programming to partnerships and branding – since joining the project in 2017. Alexa’s background in theatre production has given her a keen eye for design and out-of-the-box problem solving skills are key when working on such a unique project. She looks forward to continuing to evolve Union’s programming vision to inspire and address the changing needs of our community.
Julia has worked on Union’s events in many capacities since 2018, bringing the vision of Union as a destination to life. Working in events production, a producer, a logistics expert, and a programmer on this small equity-seeking team, Julia loves the challenge of creating and executing exceptional experiences and events- from massive brand installations to after-dark music videos, to months-long festivals – in the country’s busiest building.
Danielle started her career in events as a Brand Ambassador, and fate led her to programming + events Union Station. She started as an Event Supervisor and transitioned to an Event Associate in 2022. Danielle handles each event with an infectious energy and takes them on as fun filled adventures and challenges. Her passion is people and the work that she does in this historic building makes her feel closer to the City than ever before.
