DJ Shysofly is an open-format DJ based in Toronto. Rooted in her Eritrean culture and inspired by Toronto’s vibrant scene, she curates tailored experiences that connect with every crowd she plays for. Her journey has included sets for corporate and community events, athletic showcases, and brand activations, a testament to her versatility and deep understanding of crowds and music.

What inspired you to DJ?

While searching for a new creative outlet, I found DJing and quickly grew to love it, as it kept me connected to music in a new way. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion, and over time it’s grown into something I truly love and now do professionally.

What is on your playlist right now?

My playlist is always changing, and although I love my Afrobeats and R&B, lately I’ve been listening to a lot more Kaytranada!!

What is your favourite thing about Union Station?

I love how Union connects everyone, from travelers to creatives to locals. You probably cross paths with so many cool people without even realizing it.

What’s something surprising about you that people may not know

Most people don’t know that I was a dancer for almost 10 years before I started DJing, so that background really shaped how I understand music and connect with crowds.
