Going to clubs at a young age and seeing how you can control so many people with the power of music is something special, and is what got me hooked.

Nathaniel Bennett, better known as DJ Natty B is a professional DJ based out of Toronto, Canada. Natty B has been surrounded by music his entire life, seeing his parents as role models at a young age. Being part of such a diverse city and country, he has had the opportunity to fuse all genres while focusing on hip hop, RnB and dancehall. DJ Natty B has worked at a corporate level with companies such as Yorkdale Mall, Hudson’s Bay, and the Toronto Catholic District School Board. “Going to clubs at a young age and seeing how you can control so many people with the power of music is something special, and is what got me hooked” says Natty B. In early 2020 Natty decided to take his platform to a whole new level by creating his own cypher series to showcase eccentric Toronto artists, not just to the city but to everyone around the world. His #djnattybmovement is more than a movement, it’s a lifestyle that Natty lives by and plans to share it with the world! In 2022/2023 Natty B is planning for more opportunities to showcase his amazing talent all over the world.

What inspired you to DJ?

My family are the ones who truly inspired me to DJ, especially my mom, dad and grandpa. I grew up playing multiple instruments and rapping/singing in elementary school all the way to high school where I started to take DJing seriously. I took co-op class at Play De Record which enhanced my DJ knowledge and from there started DJing at small house parties and school dances. Once I established my name in the city I took my talents to the downtown nightlife where the magic happens. I currently i’m hoping to make a name for myself in every club and be a bridge to have different DJs around the world come and play in the city, while also traveling and entertaining crowds all over the world.

What is on your playlist right now?

I don’t have a playlist to listen. I normally just listen to DJ mixes that i made or that other DJs have made. But currently in my Spotify search is 50 Cent, Central Cee, Amaria BB, IQ, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, 112, Post & Doja.

What is your favourite thing about Union Station?

It’s a center point for the city and it’s lively, lots of activities and events happening everyday in the station!

What’s something surprising about you that people may not know?

I am a paramedic student! I wear size 12 shoes, and lastly I don’t drink or smoke and I’m lactose intolerant.
